The police ask skippers not to come to Amsterdam anymore. It would have become too crowded on the water.

“Don’t come to the capital by boat anymore and avoid the busy canal belt,” the police wrote on Twitter. One-way traffic has been introduced at a number of locations to ensure traffic flow and prevent congestion.

Additional

On Tuesday, the police warned that additional officers would be active on the water. Mainly to fine skippers who drank too much during King’s Day, or broke the rules. “It happened too often in the past that colleagues approached skippers, but did not fine them. We are not the swinging police that you wave to from your boat,” said a police team leader.
