The police are investigating a possible link between two recent robberies in Meppel. The threat was always made with a stabbing weapon. The suspect fled both times with an unknown amount of loot.
The first robbery happened last Thursday on Woldstraat. A man entered a store and demanded money.
Yesterday it happened again in Meppel. This time too, a robber struck in the center, this time at a beauty salon on Touwstraat. A man threatened again with a stabbing weapon and then fled. No one was injured during either incident.
The police are investigating whether the two robberies are related. The short distance between the two stores is one of the reasons for this. “We are investigating whether the suspect was the same person,” said a police spokesperson. It is also examined whether the robber acted alone or received help from others.
