The three masked men waited for the couple on June 7 around 7:15 pm near their car in the parking garage at Putgraaf in the center of Heerlen. When the man resisted, police said he was beaten and slammed into a wall. The man was so badly injured that he had to be taken to hospital by ambulance. There he was found to have a concussion and two fractures in an eye socket.
