The circumstances surrounding the death prompted the police to assign twenty detectives to the case. A lot of violence had been used and the victim’s bank card had disappeared, police said. The pass was used by the wanted man three days after the victim’s death.
A Rotterdammer (43) has already been detained on suspicion of involvement in the death of the 51-year-old man from Rotterdam. He was arrested at the end of June. Exactly what role he played in the man’s death is still under investigation. The victim was seen on CCTV footage in the city the night before his death, but what happened after that is still unclear.
Normally, the police distribute images of wanted people via television programs such as Opsporing Verzocht at the NPO or Bureau Rijnmond via the local channel. “But because these programs are not broadcast during the summer period, we have chosen to publish the photo via social media,” says a spokeswoman for the Rotterdam police.
