Illegal fireworks the culprit
That night after, Monday 10 February around 2.15 am, it is hit in Bussum. Then an explosive goes off at a freestanding bungalow on the Isaac da Costalaan. “There was also illegal fireworks there in Bussum,” says Sonneveldt.
“We found remains of it at the home. In combination with a flammable substance, this probably caused the fire.” There was damage to the house, so a window lay out.

The investigation is very happy to receive camera images from those streets in both houses and Bussum. “Calls are made here in the NH agency in response to explosions and lit fires. You may be able to imagine that these kinds of explosions are really to be for the victims,” says the police spokesperson.
“They feel less safe in their own house, their things are damaged and sometimes victims are also injured.” She therefore makes an urgent appeal to people at home: all the information and camera images that witnesses and local residents have are very welcome.
