The beach rescuers in Blankenberge are the only ones on the coast that themselves have their own camera system with the support of the city for the safety of the bathers. Tim Blomme, beach rescuer Blankenberge: “We started with one camera, but that has shown such a success that we already have three cameras. That we can keep an eye on the whole beach and the swimming zones. For us that is a huge added value. We make a lot of use of it. The images are also recorded. If there were problems, we can also use those images.”
