The police fired warning shots during an arrest in the Nieuwe Looiersdwarsstraat in the center of Amsterdam this evening. The suspects were arrested after a report of possible weapons possession.
The police received that report around 9 p.m. Ultimately, three suspects matched the description
ODue to the ongoing investigation, the police cannot say whether the suspects actually had a weapon with them. It is also unclear why warning shots were fired. “The officers certainly felt compelled to do so,” says a spokesperson.
