Spanish police shot at the car of a Belgian woman in Valencia. When a check showed that the 44-year-old woman had an invalid driver’s license, she tried to escape with her car three times. However, the police were able to run into her every time. In a fourth attempt to flee, an officer fired ten bullets at the vehicle.




The woman drove her Volvo C70 Cabiolet through the Cabanyal district in Valencia on Sunday afternoon. With her striking driving style, she caught the attention of a police patrol, who stopped the car for a check. When the woman showed a copy of her driver’s license, it turned out to be an invalid document to drive around in Spain. The woman then panicked and fled.

The police gave chase and managed to overtake the car and stop it again. The Belgian woman, however, did not simply let herself be caught. She escaped a second time, and then a third time.

When the patrol chased the woman for the fourth time, one of the officers was fed up. He fired ten bullets at the Volvo’s tires. But the woman couldn’t stop that either. Her new escape attempt, however, foundered after a few meters, because her tires had been blown to pieces.

The shooting took place at around 2 p.m., according to local news outlet Levante-EMV, in an area of ​​Valencia where many pedestrians and cars were driving. “It could have ended in tragedy,” it sounds. “The bullets could have missed their target or could have bounced off,” writes Marca newspaper.

The 44-year-old woman from Belgium was arrested for traffic violations and aggression against the police. She was about to hit one of the officers. She told police she was looking for a parking spot when the police stopped her, and then she got scared and panicked.
