The storage area contains cars that have been confiscated by the police. It is not yet clear what kind of explosive it is.
From outside the site it was briefly visible that a black Seat was being inspected. The police cannot confirm whether this is also the vehicle in which the explosive was found. A spokesman for the Amsterdam police says he does not want to make any statements about an ongoing investigation.
The emergency services have since left the site.
