Police encounter 400,000 euros after arresting cargo cyclist who had drugs with him NOW

The police encountered a large amount of hemp when checking a cargo cyclist in Amsterdam on 20 May. The man on the cargo bike drove through a red light, after which officers stopped him. Later, 400,000 euros in cash was also found at the man’s house. In addition, officers found even more drugs there, reports the police Thursday.

When checking the cargo bike of the 46-year-old man, officers found a bag full of hemp and pre-rolled joints. The cyclist was arrested, but the police did not stop there.

Plainclothes officers later monitored the man’s home. While they were doing that, a 47-year-old man left the house with large bags. When the officers smelled a cannabis smell, the man was checked. He was found to have too much weed and was arrested.

The home of the previously arrested man was then searched with the consent of the public prosecutor. In that house, officers found more soft drugs and thousands of euros in cash.

During the search, a bag with almost 400,000 euros in cash was found on the balcony of the neighbors below. The police suspect that this bag was quickly thrown downstairs.

The men have been free again since the beginning of this week. They remain suspect in the case.
