Double party on Monday night in the Breda detention center. Police dog Moos had just done a service by tracking down a burglar and not letting him go. When it turned out to be the thief’s birthday upon arrival in the cell, the party was complete. “We wish you a happy birthday on behalf of Moos and all colleagues!”, the police wrote in an ironic message on Instagram.

During the night from Monday to Tuesday, the officers received a report from someone who had caught a burglar red-handed on a construction site in Roosendaal. The police rushed there with several police cars and the police dog. When they arrived, officers saw a man running away on the other side of the property.

The sniffer dog Moos was then put to work. “He put his nose to work and quickly found a trail,” the police wrote on Instagram. Although the suspect was reasonably hidden, the four-legged friend still managed to find him. “Moos then sank his teeth into the man’s arm and we were able to arrest him.”

The police indeed found burglary tools on the suspect and some other suspicious traces. The burglar was loaded into the police car for a ride to the cell complex. But first they made a stop at the hospital in Breda. “For the treatment of Moos his work,” the police wrote.

Moos was rewarded, but at the station it turned out that it was not just him who had something to celebrate. “When the suspect was identified, it turned out that today was his birthday. We wish you a happy birthday on behalf of Moos and all colleagues!”
