Twice a year the police carry out checks on distraction behind the wheel. Initially this is an action by the federal police, but 105 local police zones are also participating. Curd Neyrinck, chief of police PZ RIHO: “After alcohol and drugs, distraction is the third most important cause of accidents.”
Today the police also check whether seat belts are worn, because that legislation has changed. The paper version for exemption no longer counts.
