During a major traffic control in Dongen on Wednesday, 72 fines were issued for all kinds of traffic violations. Two people have been arrested for driving under the influence. The tax authorities managed to collect a large amount from unpaid debts.
The inspection lasted from one o’clock in the afternoon until half past nine in the evening and served to improve road safety and combat crime. Various agencies worked together, such as the police, tax authorities, RDW, customs, GGD and enforcement. A total of 203 vehicles were checked.
The Tax Authorities saw seven cases of misuse of green license plates, which cost the drivers 850 euros each. Five drivers were also fined for driving with a foreign license plate while living in the Netherlands. For this, they each had to pay an additional tax of 1,500 euros.
Two vehicles have been seized by the tax authorities due to outstanding debts. In total, more than 90,000 euros in tax debts were collected during the audit.
