The police arrested a 39-year-old man from Zaltbommel in Tilburg on Tuesday night after a chase and a search. He was driving a Mercedes that was stolen around four o’clock in the morning on the Olmenstraat in Tilburg.
On the Turnhoutsebaan, alerted officers saw the car driving towards Goirle and Poppel in Belgium. They gave a stop sign but the driver drove on. The police then gave chase.
The car eventually collided with a fence on Tilburgseweg. Two men got out and then ran. One of the men was arrested. He was hiding under a parked car.
