Police car crashes into tree in Proven, officer seriously injured

The driver was driving in the direction of Proven during working hours and ended up against a tree on the left side of the road for unknown reasons. He suffered life-threatening injuries and had to be freed from the wreckage by the fire service. His condition is now said to be stable.

It is not yet known what exactly went wrong. The accident happened on a straight stretch of road. The police of the adjacent Grensleie zone will be on site to make the findings.
