Police brutality in the US: after record year 2022, 67 deaths this year in escalated arrests

Police brutality remains a huge problem in the United States. Not only Tire Nichols (29), the black man whose shocking images of police brutality were shared, but also countless others fell victim to it in the US. Among them are Patrick Lyoya, 26, and Jayland Walker, 25, both shot dead in 2022. And both unarmed. According to the figures, 2022 was therefore the deadliest year in the US: the police killed 1,176 people. Since 2013, there have been a total of 11,168 due to deadly police violence.
