Police bite back after criticism of spying on rioters: ‘There is indeed a legal basis’

The special police intelligence team that monitors demonstrators and (potential) rioters operates on razor-thin ice. According to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP), there is no decent ‘legal basis’ for prying into the lives of citizens. The police disagree.
