The police of Leiden Midden reports this on their Facebook page. The suspect was pictured on Tuesday in the Team West investigation program and on social media.
Not long after, the detectives received several tips in the case. The suspect’s name was also mentioned. He was arrested on Wednesday and taken to the police station for questioning. His age has not been disclosed.
The images showed a dark man sitting on his bicycle. He left by bicycle from Drie Octoberstraat in Leiden in the direction of Schelpenkade.
The 27-year-old woman was pushed to the ground near the Schelpenkade on Monday, June 13 at a quarter to two in the afternoon and raped. The man ran off after his act when the woman called for help. Witnesses saw him running towards the Three October State where his bicycle was. He then drove in the direction of the Schelpenkade.
