Police arrest man (28) in mysterious Wico van Leeuwen missing case | Berkelland

A 28-year-old man from Borculo was arrested on Monday in connection with the missing person case of Wico van Leeuwen. The arrested Borculoër is suspected of being involved in the mysterious disappearance of his fellow townsman, who has been missing since May last year.

The suspect is in restrictions, which means that he is not allowed any contact with the outside world, except with his lawyer. The police can therefore not make any further statements about the investigation or about the suspect, according to a spokesman.

Wico van Leeuwen disappeared on May 17 last year. He said he was going to a house on the Heerlijkheidstraat in Borculo, where he was staying at the time. He has probably been there, but since then no trace has been heard of the 48-year-old Achterhoeker.

The police assume that Van Leeuwen has become a victim of a crime and is no longer alive.

The investigation has already included several searches of the said house and another house in Borculo, the dredging of a pond in Eibergen and a search in the Twente Canal near Enschede and a search in a forest area near Haarlo.

That broadcast has yielded several tips.

This Tuesday (February 28) is in Discovery Requested again attention to the missing person case, the police report. “Hoping that we can give Wico’s family and relatives clarity about what happened to Wico.”
