The police found about 180 supporters of the Italian football club Napoli on Monday evening arrested in the center of Eindhoven. According to the police, their behavior “gave rise to disturbances.” They are heard in the police station on Mathildelaan.
Four PSV supporters were arrested at another location in the city whose behavior allegedly also caused disturbances.
The police informed the ANP news agency that there were no actual disturbances or fights. The arrests were intended to prevent that.
Safety risk area
Officers asked the “large group” of Napoli supporters to leave the city center, but they did not respond. They were then arrested for violating the municipal rules (APV) regarding gatherings.
The Champions League match PSV-Napoli is scheduled for this Tuesday evening in Eindhoven. A large part of Eindhoven had already been designated in advance as a safety risk area. Anyone in the area can be searched from Monday afternoon until the night of Tuesday to Wednesday.
