Lewandowski no longer wants to play for Poland

Robert Lewandowski has been the face of the Polish national team for years. In the future, however, he will only play under one condition for his country.
This is surprising: For the time being, Robert Lewandowski no longer wants to play for the Polish national team. In his story on Instagram, the striker wrote: “In view of the circumstances and the loss of confidence towards the coach of the Polish national team, I decided not to play for the Polish national team until his resignation as a coach.”
Lewandowski decision refers to Poland’s national coach Michał Tasty. As the Polish association announced in a statement, the 52-year-old has withdrawn the captain’s armband to his long-time striker. “The new captain of the Polish national team is Piotr Zieliński. The trainer personally informs Robert Lewandowski, the whole team and the coaching staff about his decision.”
Tasty has been in office since September 2023.
