Christian Titz is the hottest contender for the coaching post at Hannover 96. Nothing has been signed yet, but soon the decision could be made.
The coaching search at Hannover 96 apparently comes to an end. Christian Titz, still under contract with the 1st FC Magdeburg, has long been considered the top candidate for the post. The association and Titz should already agree on an engagement, the negotiations are considered advanced.
A sticking point is still the transfer fee: Magdeburg should request 500,000 euros for his trainer, reports the “Bild”. The second division club is already looking for a successor, but Christian Titz is officially under contract until the summer of 2026 in the Bördestadt.
Hannover 96 and sports director Marcus Mann could help that the 1. FC Magdeburg has apparently already found a new coach. Markus Fiedler could take over the club, it is said in unanimous media reports. The 39-year-old has been training the U23 of VfB Stuttgart, which plays in the 3rd division since 2023. However, VfB should also insist on a transfer fee for the trainer talent, which also has a contract by 2026.
Christian Titz at Hannover 96 succeeds André Breitenreiter. The 51-year-old himself had only taken over from Stefan Leitl last winter to lead the “Red” to the Bundesliga promotion. But after only three victories in 13 league games, Breitenreiter flew out again in April. Read more about this here.
