Poet Jozef Deleu is the first to receive the language medal
Deleu, who will be celebrating his 86th birthday next week, will receive the language medal in recognition of his years of dedication as ambassador of the Dutch language.
For more than twenty years he has been active as editor-in-chief of the magazine ‘Het Liegend Konijn’. This voluminous magazine appears only twice a year and consists entirely of poetic texts. In 1957, Jozef Deleu was also the driving force behind the cultural magazine ‘Ons Erfdeel’, now called ‘Low Landen’.
