Wellness coach Martina Aitolehti43, recalls Hanna Tikander’s32, on the podcast since their breakup years ago. Aitolehti does not mention her ex-spouse by name, but says that her two daughters were small at the time.
Aitolehti says that he wanted to divorce at the time, but he was worried about breaking up the nuclear family. She had two young children at the time.
– I had already broken up one family before. Maybe it was a thought I had created for myself. The idea that the family needs to be kept together so that the children are happy. What a ridiculous idea. If you’re not happy, how the hell can anyone else around you be? Aitolehti reflects in the episode.
Aitolehti remembers that he told his friend that he could be unhappy for the rest of his life, as long as he could provide a nuclear family for his children. Today, the comment in question is strange for Aitolehti.
Later, Aitolehti realized that maintaining a nuclear family cannot be a reason to stay in a relationship. Aitolehti remembers that life after the divorce was a dramatic change.
– I moved from one of the nicest apartments in Helsinki. I had housekeepers, a house in Spain and Levi, and a horse farm in Hanko. Life was really great and nice, Aitolehti describes her life before the divorce.
– I moved with two girls and a dog to a small triangle in Kalasatama. Yes, my life changed quite radically, he adds.

Aitolehti remembers looking at her dog and daughters, who used to live in the countryside, who were amazed at their new home. Then Aitolehti had hesitant thoughts.
– I was just thinking, what the hell have I gone to do. I really had to build and put myself back together completely. It is somehow empowering and healthy above all for yourself. When I got over it, the world looked completely different. I thought, why haven’t I done this before, he says.
Aitolehti did not regret his decision to leave, but the moment when he stood in the middle of the moving boxes, completely unsure of what was to come, is vividly imprinted on his mind.
– I just thought that “no god”. How am I doing? How can I take care of everything? How do I find enough time when I work really hard, Aitolehti recalls his thoughts at the time.
– I managed really well. I just started building routines again. You just have to accept that this is the situation and there is no going back to the old ways, he states.
Aitolehti and a businessman Stefan Therman divorced in 2020 after nine years of marriage. At the time of separation, Aitolehti and Therman Isabelladaughter was 8 years old, and the wellness coach’s second child Victoria was 10 years old. Victoria was born from Aitolehti’s previous relationship with a radio host Esko Eerikäinen with.
Aitolehti said in October 2025 Martina & Esko podcast, that Isabella is practically always with him.
– I am the parent who takes 100% responsibility. I don’t feel that taking responsibility is when you call every now and then and put a couple of bucks in the account every now and then, Aitolehti, among other things, commented in the episode.
Aitolehti also stated in the podcast that if you don’t want to take responsibility for your own child, “something is wrong”.
– God, something is really wrong. I don’t need or should be bitter about it, but accept that he chooses this way. I can’t help it, Aitolehti commented.
Therman strongly denied Aitolehti’s claims in an interview with Iltalehti.
– It’s complete bullshit, I won’t answer anything else, Therman said by phone.
