The day started fresh today, especially in the dune area. In some dune pans it was freezing several degrees. According to Visser, this is not exceptional in May.

The temperature is now rising rapidly. This afternoon it will be 13 to 14 degrees on Texel and in the Noordkop. Elsewhere in the province the mercury rises to 16 to 17 degrees and in the Amsterdam and Gooi region it can reach 18 degrees. The sun is shining brightly and there is no more than a weak to moderate northeasterly wind.

Tomorrow even sunnier and warmer

Tomorrow the high pressure area will move towards Scandinavia and the wind will turn from the east to southeast. This means even warmer air is coming our way.

It remains sunny and the temperature rises to about 17 to 18 degrees. The easterly wind remains weak to moderate.

Weekend: lots of sun and possibly 21 degrees

It will also remain dry on Saturday with regular sunshine. The temperature continues to rise to approximately 20 to 21 degrees.

On Sunday the chance of an occasional shower increases slightly, although that does not seem to be too bad in North Holland. Because there will be more clouds, the temperature will be slightly lower. “But all in all a great weekend,” said Visser.

Then clearly cooler again

After the weekend the weather will change. The temperature then drops to approximately 13 to 14 degrees and the chance of showers also increases.

According to Visser, low-pressure areas have a greater influence on the weather in the Netherlands, bringing in cooler air from the Atlantic Ocean.
