Plenty of delays: province silted up due to accidents on N247 and A9

This morning there was a traffic jam again in several places in North Holland. The longest is on the N247 between Volendam and the A10, due to an accident. It is also fixed on the A9 between Alkmaar and Amstelveen.

On the N247 between Hoorn and Amsterdam according to the ANWB 10 kilometers of traffic jam between Volendam and the connection with the A10. An accident happened around 6:40 am on the N475 near the entrance to the highway. The delay increased to about 70 minutes around 7:30 am.

There is also a traffic jam on the N235 between Purmerend-Zuid and Watergang. Here the delay increases to half an hour around 7.30.

Further on in the province, on the A9 between Alkmaar and Amstelveen, you can also join the queue. Between the Kooimeer junction and the Velsen junction the delay increases to approximately one hour. Due to an accident, only one lane is open. It is still unclear when all lanes will reopen.

Because it is so busy on the A9, traffic jams also arise on the surrounding N-roads. On the N203 between A9 and Krommenie the delay is about 13 minutes, further along between Krommenie and Zaandijk the delay is about 38 minutes.

Rijkswaterstaat already expected a busy morning rush hour. On Tuesdays the roads are often busy and, according to them, the rainy weather contributes to the crowds. Many traffic jams are also expected tonight.
