Plein Sport signs license agreement with watch manufacturer Timex

The Philipp Plein Group, which includes the brands Philipp Plein, Plein Sport and Billionaire, has entered into a license agreement with the watch manufacturer Timex Nederland BV. The agreement covers the manufacture, production and distribution of Plein Sport watches, the company announced on Monday.

The US Timex Group has been responsible for the watch collections of the main brand Philipp Plein since 2021, now the brand’s sports line follows, which has been back on the market since February 2022.

“We are very excited to be collaborating with Philipp Plein on the launch of the Plein Sport watch line. The success of the launch of Philipp Plein Timepieces and Jewelry has exceeded all expectations,” said Tobias Reiss-Schmidt, President and Chief Executive Officer, Timex Group. “Plein Sport appeals to a different audience in the exciting and growing activewear segment and will continue to drive business and growth.”

The first watch model in the line is called “Thunderstorm” and is available both as a chronograph and as a quartz version. The various design elements are reminiscent of Plein Sport’s trademark, the tiger.

The watch collection will be available from April in the brand’s online shop and from selected retail partners.
