The friendly match between Hungary and Kazakhstan was abruptly disrupted on Tuesday evening by a camera that fell from a great height onto the field. Players and bystanders were shocked by the moment, but the incident fizzled out.
The match was played at the Nagyerdei Stadium in Debrecen, Hungary’s second city.
Images of supporters in the stadium show that the camera was already surrounded by smoke. A few seconds later the plane fell from a great height onto the field. A cameraman who was close to the falling object escaped unscathed. Players also reacted upset. Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai saw it happen, but luckily for the Hungary captain he was at a safe distance from the falling camera.
