Platje accurate at winning AFC; Volendammer Vlak misses for Kon. HFC penalty kick against fellow villagers

In the second division, Jong FC Volendam caused a small stunt today by winning 1-0 against Koninklijke HFC. AFC made no mistake against the strong IJsselmeervogels and recorded a 3-0 win in Amsterdam.

AFC – IJsselmeer Birds

At AFC Melvin Platje was the celebrated man. The striker who played for Bhayangkara FC in Indonesia last season, was accurate for the first time in the eighteenth minute thanks to a nice long shot. After the break, Raily Ignacio doubled the score at Good Enough Sports Park. Ten minutes before the end, Platje was allowed to dock from eleven meters for his second of the game. The 33-year-old former player of FC Volendam and Telstar did this flawlessly and brought the final score to 3-0.

It marked the first victory of the season for AFC after losing to the Treffers in the first round.

Young FC Volendam – Royal HFC

At Jong FC Volendam against Koninklijke HFC, Volendammer Gerry Vlak played a leading role. The brother of Jari (FC Emmen) and Dion (Spakenburg) was allowed to dock for a penalty after more than half an hour after striker Sietse Brandsma was floored. Gerry, the eldest of the three Volendam brothers, was unable to capitalize on the opportunity in his old stadium, however, because Kayne van Oevelen turned the bet.

Surprise

Royal HFC had a great opportunity for the 1-0 just before half-time, but André Morgan’s effort landed on the post. Also in the second half, the Haarlem team remained the dominant party. Nevertheless, it was the talents from Volendam who eventually took the win. Substitute Quincy Hoeve eventually gave the team of Kiki Musampa the lead.

In the final phase, Rovien Ostiana received a red card on the side of FC Volendam. However, Koninklijke HFC could no longer make a fist and ran into a surprising defeat. It was the first loss of the season for Gertjan Tamerus’ team after beating SV Spakenburg in the first round.
