The Tilburg fair is almost over. Visitors were able to indulge themselves at the largest fair in the Benelux for the last ten days. Daredevils went over in the booster, gourmets ate oliebollen and cotton candy and partygoers threw the hips loose, but much more happened. We list the highs and lows for you.
New attractions
The Tilburg fair gets bigger and crazier every year. With no fewer than 223 attractions, it is the largest fair in the Benelux. This year there were eight new attractions at the fair. For example, the little ones could spray each other wet with water guns in the Splash Duck and daredevils made a free fall of eighty meters in the Fortress Tower. A few attractions were given a new look.

Free pee after protest action
Men can pee for free, while women have to pay a euro per urethra at the Tilburg fair. That was what the ‘Tilburg Dolle Mina’s’ Elysa and Paulina ‘Plasdisdisrimination’ found. That is why the ladies tied pink ribbons for the urinals at the fair in protest.

Kermis alderman Maarten van Asten confessed after the protest action that it was quite a strange choice. The municipality therefore decided to make the toilets at the fair for everyone for free.

Peeing turned out to be one hot item This year at the Tilburg fair. After the campaign against lake discrimination, there was even more attention for free peeing and with a wild -plaspark. The organization of the park wanted to draw attention to the nuisance that wild peeing entails.

The Wednesday of the Tilburg fair is entirely devoted to turning organs. Sven Luijben experienced the day of his life, because he is super fan of turning organs. Thirteen turning organs spread over the center provided a lot of pleasure with enthusiasts. Sven was allowed to stand by his supervisor of care provider Amarant for twenty minutes at every barrel organ, because he can listen to it for a whole day.

Stuck in the Ferris wheel
Not everything went smoothly at the Tilburg fair. For example, Wendy and her son Rutger from Tilburg were stuck in the Ferris wheel for 45 minutes on Wednesday, because their gondola was accidentally skipped with it to get in and out. “We just kept shouting and signaling, but nothing happened,” said Wendy. In the end, mother and son were saved. Afterwards they can laugh hard about it.

Girl (8) injured
A low point at the Tilburg fair was the accident in which an 8-year-old girl was injured. She broke her ankle at the mega slide that stands at the intersection of the palace ring and Koningsplein. The 14 meter high slide was closed immediately after the incident by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority.
