The Tuscans drop to Serie B after just one season. The Nerazzurri manager: “We probably also underestimated the impact of the category. Now I hope to recover soon”
The Serie A rediscovered a year ago, after 34 years of waiting, lasted the space of just one season: with the home defeat by Lecce, Pisa went downstairs again. Giovanni Corrado, the director of the Pisan club, is the first to appear before the microphones of Dazn: “It’s a bitter evening, rightly so, because we lose a category that we have chased for years with an audience that deserved it, dreamed of it and in my opinion we lose it with a match that is the example of this season. Sorry, we did everything that we probably could – his words -. We probably also underestimated the impact of this category at the beginning, we tried to correct the aim but this wasn’t enough and unfortunately I feel sorry for these guys, because I think they deserved so many more points on the pitch. They certainly didn’t manage to get them because we were missing Serie A in our hearts, I’m sure that many of these guys will find their category again soon and I hope Pisa will too.”

Corrado admits: “We don’t yet have the qualities to be in this category. We know that we will now face an extremely difficult championship. We will have to have calm and clarity to evaluate the right steps and start again in the best way.” Finally, on the disagreements of the last few days with owner Alexander Knaster, Corrado replied: “Ten years ago when we arrived Pisa didn’t even have a club, much less a future. Today it has a strong ownership and this is what counts, everything else, including managers, comes into the background.”
