(toskanews) – Doctor Delia Brunello played by Pilar Fogliati returns from February 1st on Rai1 with the third season of Heartsthe series dedicated to the exploits of a group of pioneering cardiac surgery doctors. Hearts 3 with Matteo Martaridirected by Riccardo Donna, will be broadcast over six evenings. Let’s meet the protagonists again 5 years later, we are in 1974and at the center of the story are the new professional challenges of these doctors in the cardiology department of the Molinette hospital in Turin.
«For me, the character of Delia represents, as an actress, the opportunity to go back in time a little and see the women who fought for rights for which I have not fought, but which I am benefiting from. – explained Pilar Fogliati – with all the scientific achievements of the time and therefore also having appointments of true things that happened in the history of medicine, they give you a track where it is more stimulating to work».
Delia and her husband are going through a period marked by strong social changes such as feminism, divorce and new family dynamicsbut also important innovations in the medical field, from the birth of intensive care to the new coronary bypasses, up to the first experiments that will lead to angioplasty. And in this third season there will be no shortage of tensions and difficult choices on a personal level too. «There will be a lot of talk about couples, if you want to get pregnant you don’t have to workmarital quarrels of the most classic possible, but all this seasoned with a social feeling around where these things have barely been fought for. — said the actress — So there were those who didn’t agree with the referendum on divorce, those who did, so let’s say this social chatter is very present in all the stories of the third season.”
