Pierre van Hooijdonk has been suspended for weeks as a football analyst in Studio Voetbal, because he accused the Ajax trainer of ‘dark deals’. He made his return to the program on Sunday evening, wearing a dark blue jacket. René van der Gijp was also sitting in front of the tube and it made him very uncomfortable.

Dead bird

It was hard to see, says René at the table Inside today. “I am not a fan of his, Johan is not a fan of his, but I think we should think about using Pierre van Hooijdonk. Everything was suddenly fantastic yesterday, wasn’t it? Yes, I’ve never seen such a dead bird. Come on man!”

After such a week-long suspension, it is better to return with a joke and a wink, says René. “Just kidding! I had it ready right away, you know. It was about someone and then he would have been better off saying: ‘Wow, there are also dark things to it.’ Let go, dude, come on! But he sat there like a dead bird, man.”

‘Shouldn’t you’

Johan Derksen thought it came across as very weak. “You should not do that. If you’re in a tight spot… Look, I’ve also been in a tight spot, but you see now with Matthijs… He crawls through the fabric. Pierre does indeed sit there like a prick listening to cotton wool all evening, but also in difficult times just keep that big mouth shut.”

René: “But Johan, then you say at a certain point… That Stekelenburg too… Then you say: ‘Joh, I don’t need you to defend me, do I, dear friend?'”

‘So painful’

Presenter Sjoerd van Ramshorst also gave a lengthy story to announce Pierre’s rehabilitation. “First all that intro”, says Wilfred Genee.

René: “What a pity!”

Wilfred: “Yes, it was so painful!”

René: “It just made me sad.”
