Linkin Parks Champions League appearance causes much attention. On May 31, 2025, the US band appeared at the Munich Allianz Arena as part of the official pre-show for the Champions League final. The show took place immediately before the game between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan and was part of the opening staging organized by UEFA and main sponsor Pepsi. The band played a five-minute medley of four pieces-including “The Emptiness Machine”, “In The End”, “Numb” (with “Numb/Encore” Intro) and “Heavy is the Crown” (with “Numb” UEFA-Champions-League-Remix-Intro and a snippet from “Up From The Bottom”).

Well -known footballer calls Show “garbage”
The band’s show, however, did not encounter enthusiasm everywhere. While fans celebrated the appearance of the US band on X (formerly Twitter), the former Dutch international Marco van Basten saw it very differently. In the program “Ziggo Sport”, he described Linkin Park’s show as “garbage, absolute garbage”, as the picture reports. “The boys are preparing for the most important game of their lives. It is ridiculous that they are bothered by them,” continued van Basten. Rafael van der Vaart, also an ex-international of the Netherlands, was therefore very enthusiastic: “You make your warm-up program, prepare yourself-and then there is half an hour idle because of the show.”
