This Monday afternoon, some five hooded men burned a large face-down image of the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonesand the mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collbonias well as the President of the Government, Pedro Sanchez; the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo; the head of the Vox list for Congress for Valencia, Carlos Flores, and the Health Minister of the Balearic Islands, Manuela García.
The events took place during the demonstration of the Independence Left – in which the CUP participates – for the Diada. At around 7:10 p.m., some hooded men sprayed the image with alcohol and burned the image of Aragonès and Collboni between Paseo Lluís Companys and Comerç street. At the end of the march, after 8 p.m., they also burned those of the other politicians.

They have also burned a Spanish flag, a French one and one of the European Union and have played a video where Sánchez, Feijóo, Flores and García appeared; while the attendees in the Plaza Comercial whistled. Furthermore, upon arriving at the square, they lit 10 flares, forming a corridor for attendees to approach the stage and they sang the Catalan anthem, ‘Els Segadors’.
Last year, in the same demonstration, a photograph of the President of the Government was also burned, Pedro Sanchezwith the ‘president’ of the Generalitat, Pere Aragones.
