Philipp Plein licenses swimwear to Area B Group

After Philipp Plein recently awarded licenses for glasses and watches, it is now heading to the beach with the Italian swimwear manufacturer Area B Group.

The Switzerland-based fashion group has entered into a licensing agreement with Area B for the design, production and global distribution of Philipp Plein brand swimwear for men and women. The first collection under this agreement will appear in spring 2025, according to industry magazine FashionNetwork.

Until now, swimwear was occasionally designed and produced by the brand itself, but was only sold in Philipp Plein stores. The license agreement appears to place an increased focus on the segment.

In the past few months, Philipp Plein’s brand world, especially the universe of the Plein Sport sports line, which has returned to the market since February 2022, has grown immensely. The designer is planning 295 stores by 2024 for the sporty Diffusion line alone.
