The Philadelphia Flyers are having a great season, but the weekend brought snow to the house. After a five-match winning streak, the match column received two home defeat entries.

On Saturday, the Colorado Avalanche took points from Philadelphia. On Sunday, the Ottawa Senators overturned a two-goal lead by the hosts and took the win.

Defeat of the super virile by Nathan MacKinnon there is no surprise for the leading Avalanche, but the Senators, who are the jumbo of the East, should fall, at least in their home cave.

– We didn’t play badly, but we weren’t at the level we’ve been at recently, a big striker Sean Couturier commented on the Flyers website.

– This was not good enough (performance).

The Flyers took a 3–1 lead Joel Farabeen hitting midway through the second set. Tim Stützle scored a big layup less than a minute later.

In the final set, the Senators rose to the level and rolled to a 5–3 victory.

– We have to play a two-goal lead for a while, five or six minutes, Flyers coach John Tortorella exorcised his company on the X account.

– We cannot take a setback immediately.

According to Moneypuck, the Senators beat the Flyers by waiting for a goal, measuring as much as 5:42 to 1:34.

– We weren’t able to play enough in their area. We weren’t able to create enough places, Tortorella estimated.

– If we let their skilled guys play in our end… Well, that’s definitely not a recipe for a good match.

Despite the double loss, the Flyers are in a good position. The position in the division is second, fourth in the conference and ninth in the entire league.
