He is one of the greatest musicians of our time, but Phil Collins rarely appears publicly. This is all the more emotional: A new photo shows the 74-year-old as a proud father on the edge of the field, how he cheered on his son Mathew Collins. At the beginning of his career, Mathew Collins played for the Hannover 96 U19 team. After the club had released him, Phil Collins’ son, according to the “Tyrolean daily”, impressed at the trial training in Innsbruck, Austria. Since summer 2024 he has been kicking for the Wattener sports community Swarovski (WSG) Tirol.

Now the music world looked after a very special snapshot for Wattens. After the 2-1 win against joining, the midfielder posted a picture with his father on Instagram and wrote underneath: “Two big victories today.”
Lily Collins (36), actress and Mathew’s half-sister, then shared the photo in her Instagram story with the words: “I love everything.” Brother Nicholas (24), who accompanied his father on the last Genesis tour on the drums, commented on two red hearts. How Phil Collins is doing today
Phil Collins has lived on Lake Geneva since his stage party in 2022. The career: over. The pain: permanent. Nerve damage due to an old spine injury forced the drummer to quit. A deep cut, as Collins openly admitted in his documentary “Phil Collins: Drummer First” at the end of 2024. The music was “always his life – and his body took it”.
Musician colleague Mike Rutherford (74) gave an update to Collins’ health in March 2024. “Phil is a little more immobile than before. […] He is doing well at home now. He enjoys life, ”said Rutherford at“ BBC Breakfast ”. And that is exactly what the snapshot from Wattens seems to show.
