Peter van der Vorst is taking quite a beating now that things are going so incredibly wrong at RTL. He is attacked in De Telegraaf and Today Inside. “Isn’t he so neat and woke? This is hypocritical!”
RTL boss Peter van der Vorst always shouts that everyone should be nicer to each other, but in the meantime there seems to be bullying in the editorial staff of RTL Weer, a violent actor is being hoisted on a shield by the channel top and the atmosphere on the set of the Videoland set Sleepers is so toxic that Teun Kuilboer has immediately resigned.
Sneak at Peter
Wilfred Genee thinks it is unprecedented. “It is remarkable that it is happening again at RTL, of course, where Peter van der Vorst is in charge, who is always trying to keep everything as neat and woke as possible. That doesn’t really work, does it?” he sneers at the table. Today Inside.
Johan Derksen: “Yes, and he also said he wouldn’t want us back.”
Wilfred: “By the way, we called that boy today, that Teun Kuilboer, to possibly invite him, but he is holding off on everything at the moment.”
Dubious
Many people do not understand that someone like Danny de Munk was immediately canceled by RTL when he was accused, but that the violent actor Marouane Meftah is allowed to play the leading role in a drama series of the channel despite video evidence of the abuse he committed.
RTL is taking a very dubious attitude, says Evert Santegoeds in the podcast Strictly Private. “If he is convicted, you end up with a convicted protagonist in a series. Because of violence, which you don’t want.”
Inconsistent
TV authority Tina Nijkamp opens up in her column The Telegraph the attack on Peter. “It’s a real pain, because RTL was previously able to act lightning fast. When Danny de Munk was under fire, it was ready for him immediately.”
RTL is consistently inconsistent, she continues. “What should director Peter van der Vorst do now? If they are smart, they will choose one clear course of action. Either you wait for pending criminal cases, or you never do that. (…) Above all: please throw that Be sweet campaign in the trash immediately.”
