Peter Jackson believes more new Beatles songs are possible

After his work on “Now And Then,” Jackson can imagine even more new Beatles releases.

For the current Beatles single “Now And Then”, Peter Jackson contributed the AI technology that enabled the song to be created in the first place, as well as directing the accompanying music video. Now the “Lord of the Rings” director comments on possible further releases from the band in the future.

More than just “fanboy” dreams?

Opposite the “Sunday Times” Jackson explains what experiences he gained while working with the Beatles and that he wouldn’t rule out further new releases from the band. “We could take a performance of ‘Get Back,’ separate John and George, and then have Paul and Ringo add a chorus or harmonies,” says Jackson. “It could end up being a decent song. But I haven’t had any discussions with Paul about that yet,” he adds.

The prospect of further possible Beatles songs was initially just “fanboy stuff” – but it would actually be conceivable, says Jackson about his Beatles ideas for the future.

Past projects by Jackson and the Beatles

The filmmaker has now worked with the Beatles on several projects. In 2021, they worked together on the eight-hour documentary series “The Beatles: Get Back,” which was compiled from old footage from the “Let it Be” documentary.

During the recording of “Now And Then”, the music video was created under Peter Jackson’s direction from compilations of current recordings and old pictures of the band members. Jackson himself describes the work in one Press release as “poignant and humorous”. It invites “viewers to celebrate the Beatles’ timeless and enduring love for one another with John, Paul, George and Ringo as they create the final Beatles song.”
