Peter Hahn presents restructuring concept – 400 jobs cut

Peter Hahn GmbH announced a restructuring concept at the beginning of the year that is intended to promote the continuation and restructuring of the clothing supplier based in Winterbach, Baden-Württemberg.

The concept presented on Tuesday, which was developed after the application for a protective shield on October 23rd, envisages removing Peter Hahn from the group structure of the Munich clothing group TriStyle Group and continuing it as an independent company.

Already in October, the insolvency of the sister company Madeleine, which also belongs to the TriStyl Group, as well as conversion requirements within the framework of the Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) and the general market situation in the mail order business were considered the reasons for the clothing provider’s application for protective shielding.

Out for around 400 employees

Despite the solution from the parent company, the clothing supplier will remain in Winterbach, but only with 600 employees. At the beginning of the restructuring process, Peter Hahn said he still employed around 1,000 people.

“The decision that we have to part with some of our deserving employees as part of this realignment was not an easy one for us,” says Managing Director Alexandra Kohnke. “We have done everything we can to keep as many employees as possible on board. Even if we have to make this cut now, I am confident that we can offer the remaining employees long-term prospects and return the company to sustainable growth.”

Main proceedings opened at the beginning of the year

The implementation of the restructuring concept developed with the help of the management team around Daniela Angerer, Alexandra Kohnke, Jörg Marx, restructuring manager Detlef Specovius, restructuring representatives Andreas Kleinschmidt and Nicolai Fischer as well as the provisional administrator Holger Leichtle is to begin step by step in February. The main proceedings were previously opened on January 1st.

In the future, tried-and-tested sales channels will be retained, but will focus even more on digitalization, according to the statement. Business operations will continue to operate without restrictions. “We have received a lot of support from customers, business partners and suppliers in the past few weeks,” said the restructuring representatives Kleinschmidt and Fischer. “This makes us confident that we are on the right track to continue Peter Hahn’s business operations on a healthy foundation in the long term.”
