It’s starting to look more and more like Peter Gillis is disappearing from the TV. Not because of all the controversies surrounding his person — at least, not directly — but because of the declining viewing figures.
Ratings experts Tina Nijkamp and Joost Maiburg report that the scores of the Peter Gillis soap are under heavy pressure. “The television sparkle in the Gillis Family seems to have disappeared. The magic is gone. Nobody talks about them anymore, they are no longer in the news and so the viewing figures are also very disappointing,” says Tina analysis channel.

Even the Gordon soap did better, according to Tina. “Gordon and his soap scored significantly higher in the commercial target group in linear and delayed mode on the same slot on SBS 6. And that is striking. Will there be a new season of Massa is Kassa? Think big doubts about SBS6. The latest audience report? 378 thousand viewers and a 7.1 percent share.”
Joost confirms Peter Gillis’s declining viewing figures and concludes channel: “The viewer also seems to be gradually fed up with it.”

“I notice certain things that it can also work against you. Maybe we should come up with a different formula. We will wait for the conversation.”

Contact with John is good, he emphasizes. For example, when things weren’t going well with his son Mark, he received a text message. “I received a text saying: ‘Hi Peter, how unfortunate what is happening to your family. Mark in a coma, that’s not good at all.’”
“It was very nice of John to ask if we wanted to continue during these difficult times. His words were literally that he would understand if the cameras were not there in this situation. He had complete respect for that. Everything showed me that he has a good heart. But it never occurred to us to stop running.”
