Peter Gillis says that two other major broadcasters are interested in his real-life soap now that Talpa has pulled the plug for the time being, but Rob Goossens is suspicious. “Would be weird.”
John de Mol’s Talpa took the position for years that Peter Gillis’ real-life soap should be allowed to continue as long as he has not been irrevocably convicted, but they have changed their mind. Now that Peter has been convicted for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Nicol Kremers, who also had a role in the Talpa soap, the recordings have been paused.
‘We continue!’
Peter himself was not yet aware of this when Talpa sent this statement to the press. “John de Mol says: ‘Guys, until you can no longer appeal, no longer appeal in cassation and it is irrevocable, we will continue’, so yes…,” we heard the reality star herself say in front of the camera of RTL Boulevard.
The confusion is understandable, according to TV critic Rob Goossens. “Talpa did indeed say that initially, but they have now indeed said to stop the recordings.”
On the line
Colleague Luuk Ikink states that Peter has indicated that there are plenty of parties that would like to take over the soap. “In the preliminary interview he said extensively: ‘Everyone is on the line.’”
Rob then: “Yes, two major broadcasters, he says. Well, we only have two other major broadcasters in the Netherlands and those are RTL and the NPO. We called them and they both know nothing. RTL is not going to do it anyway and I think the NPO said: ‘That is not an issue at the moment.’ It would be very strange…”
