Peter Gillis had to close Prinsenmeer park, but you can still book

People who have booked a holiday at Prinsenmeer recreation park in Ommel have not yet received any message about what will happen to their booking. They have also not yet received the money back from the booking. The park of the Oostappen Group of Peter Gillis had to close a month ago by the municipality, but booking is still possible and Gillis still attracts holidaymakers with advertisements on Google.

Prinsenmeer had to close at the beginning of December after the outcome of a Bibob investigation commissioned by the municipality of Asten. That investigation shows that there is a ‘serious danger’ that owner Gillis misuses his permits for criminal purposes.

Website is silent
More than a month after the news about the closure, a holiday can still be booked, according to Omroep Brabant. On the website of the Prinsenmeer holiday park there is no mention of the forced closure. Booking still appears to be possible today.

People who have previously booked a holiday have not yet received a message from the Oostappen Group about the closure. The money that was transferred has also not yet been refunded.

In the meantime, Gillis is still advertising his park via Google. Anyone who searches for the word ‘Prinsenmeer’ will see an advertisement from the Oostappen Group:

If you search for 'Prinsenmeer' you will come across an advertisement from Gillis.

‘Lawyers are busy’
Peter Gillis tells Omroep Brabant that there is ‘no news’ to report about the situation on Prinsenmeer. When asked when people will get their money back, he answers: “Lawyers are busy studying everything.”

Holidaymakers had to leave the park immediately in December. People who lived permanently in the park were given by the municipality until ‘sometime in January’ to leave. The municipality will make a decision on this soon.
