Peter Bosz is the new PSV coach

It was already in the air and now it is final: Peter Bosz is the new trainer of PSV. That reports Football International. The 59-year-old coach will succeed Ruud van Nistelrooij.

Peter Bosz had been without a club for a while after he left Olympique Lyon last year. Before that, Bosz was a trainer of Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax, among others. The coach is known for his offensive and attractive game, but never won the national championship as a coach at any club.

According to Football International PSV and Bosz have reached an agreement in outline and the signatures will be placed on Monday.

Preparation
For PSV, this brings an end to the unexpected search for a new coach. To everyone’s surprise, Van Nistelrooij resigned half a week before the last league match against AZ last season. He felt too little confidence.

PSV will start preparing for the new season with Bosz on Monday 3 July. On July 26, PSV will play its first exhibition match against fellow townsman FC Eindhoven. Five days later, PSV practice against Nottingham Forest FC, the number 16 in the English Premier League. Both matches are in the Philips stadium.

Bosz will also compete with PSV for a Champions League qualification. The people of Eindhoven finished second in the Eredivisie last season and therefore play in the preliminary round of the most important European club football tournament.
