Under the title “Obskur Pet Shop Boys”, the Pet Shop Boys will present a setlist with album tracks that were not released as singles, as well as B-sides and fan favorites, on two evenings in Berlin. Ticket sales start on May 29th.
And the concerts take place on a small scale: in “Huxleys Neue Welt” in Berlin. The Pet Shop Boys said: “We are really looking forward to diving deeper into our song repertoire at these shows and presenting album tracks, B-sides and fan favorites live that are not otherwise part of the setlist.”
The Berlin gigs are preceded by five consecutive evenings at the Electric Ballroom in Camden (London), where they have already performed their “Obskur” program and been celebrated: “There aren’t many acts who can bring five sold-out shows to the stage by promising only B-sides, album tracks and no hits. But the Pet Shop Boys did it without breaking a sweat.”
For the “Obskur” shows, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe rehearsed 35 songs from a career spanning more than four decades. Including the “Suburbia” B-side “Jack The Lad” from 1986 as a live premiere.
