Personnel quake at Dynamo Dresden

Third division soccer team Dynamo Dresden has separated from sports director Ralf Becker.

The Saxony supervisory board decided this on Tuesday “after intensive discussions with all those responsible,” according to a club statement.

Becker took over the position in Dresden in 2020 and achieved immediate promotion back to the 2nd Bundesliga with the club in his first season.

Despite relegation in the following season, his expiring contract was extended until 2024. From the club’s side, it can be stated “that the necessary trust is missing that our ambitious club goals can be achieved in the short and medium term together with Ralf Becker,” said supervisory board chairman Jens Heinig.

Becker’s duties will be temporarily taken over by Managing Director Communications David Fischer. This is supported, among others, by ex-national player Ulf Kirsten, who works as a sporting advisor at Dynamo.
