Permit for works Kortrijk-Wevelgem airport destroyed

The works from 2019 are therefore not legal according to the Council for Permit Disputes. This is the second time that the license has been destroyed. The airport says it is a procedural matter that does not affect its operation.

It is people from the neighborhood who challenged the permit. For the works, 10 million euros has been invested in, among other things, the runway and taxiways. The Flemish government issued a license twice via a simplified procedure, which the court finds insufficient. The airport is now either going to make a new application or it can also appeal against the judgment.
