Behind its origin there are different mysteries. Some theories believe that it arises from sea foam, others that it is the fruit of plants that grow spontaneously on the cliffs. The most widespread theory has it that this material is composed of the waste of sperm whales, called in Arabic anbar, from which amber gray originated. These, floating on the surface of the water under the sun, take on the typical scent of this ingredient, in addition to the greyish colour.
