The pepper is literally and figuratively hot. The Dutch Chile festival in Eindhoven expects more than 15,000 visitors on Sunday. The highlight of the event: the food competition in which all participants eventually ‘break’ due to the sharpness that demolishes their huig and esophagus. The Carolina Reaper – one of the most spicy species in the world – is the biggest challenge in Eindhoven, is expected. A first aid team will therefore be ready for the stage, according to organizer Leo Hoeksema.
